The 2007 festival, again sponsored by Admiral, takes another great leap forwards, with a much expanded and more ambitious programme and some big-name acts such as the estimable Blues Band and the unforgettable Laurence Cottle Big Band, which both draw sell-out audiences. Yet again the weather is good, the Complete Hospitality Company wines and dines everyone royally in the enlarged festival marquee, and for the first time overall attendance passes the 3,000 mark. Building on the first year's success, the 2006 festival gains sponsorship from Admiral, Complete Hospitality and the Hurns Brewing Company. Bigger and better in every respect than 2005, the festival is now focused on a major marquee at the heart of the village, with additional gigs in pubs and clubs around the village. A shot in the dark as a last-minute decision is made by Mumbles Development Trust, in partnership with Swansea Jazzland, to launch a major festival, using its own funds supported by grants from Tourism Swansea and the Swansea Arts Forum Trust. With 20 gigs in 10 venues, no sponsorship and minimal opportunity for publicity, the inaugural festival pays off spectacularly, with thousands of people enjoying themselves over a fine May bank holiday weekend.
