Great blues band from Texas, USA…
Where: Festival Pavilion
When: Friday 1st May
Time: the Snake Davis Bands set starts at 8pm, followed by the Hamilton Loomis Band; concert ends at 11pm
“Innovate, don’t imitate.”

Hamilton Loomis took his mentor Bo Diddley’s advice. It speaks volumes when the likes of Diddley, Johnny ‘Clyde’ Copeland, Clarence ‘Gatemouth’ Brown and Albert Collins take you under their wings. The Texan sensation is at the forefront of bringing roots music into the 21st century and redefining it for a contemporary audience.
Known for his tasteful, powerful guitar work, Hamilton is one of the most versatile young artists on the scene. As Bo Diddley said about him: “You got to put some seasonin’ in what you’re doin’ – and this boy’s got the whole salt shaker.”
“If blues, soul, and rock can be said to form a triangle, you’ll find Loomis right in the center of it... This energetic guitarist brings his grooves to life...” Andy Ellis, Guitar Player Magazine, Sept 2003
“Loomis... sings with soulful self-assurance... As a guitarist the versatile Loomis prefers the bright, jazzy tones of T-Bone Walker and ‘Gatemouth’ Brown, but he also brings out ferocious wah-wah funk with authority.” Thomas J. Cullen III, Blues Revue Magazine, Aug/Sept 2000
“This kid’s got most all of it and then some. The Texan is a singer/ songwriter/ guitarist/ bandleader and has movie-star good looks. More than worth a listen.” Joseph Jordan, Southland Blues Magazine, June 2003
