After a storming gig which brought the house down (almost literally…) at a packed Mumbles Yacht Club, on the fringe of last year’s festival, The Contenders return to the scene of the crime!

The Contenders rose out of the ashes of several Mumbles-based bands and quickly established a reputation on the local party circuit as a rock and soul covers band playing goodtime music that makes you want to get up and dance. The Contenders are Huw Evans (vocals), Nick Farren and Paul Whittaker (guitars), Huw Browning (bass) and John Shapton (drums). For this year’s festival, the band will be ‘funked up’ with the addition of the ‘Brass Boys’ horn section.

So, if you like your jazz and blues with a twist, The Contenders feature an eclectic mix, from punk to funk and classic British blues rock to some of the all-time soul classics!
